How this guide works

Where the data comes from

Every entry is researched from verifiable sources: official league rights pages (e.g. the Premier League's published territory-by-territory deals), federation announcements, Wikipedia's broadcast-contract tables, and reputable press reporting. Each competition card links its sources. Nothing is guessed — countries without a verifiable broadcaster are shown as "coverage coming", not filled in.

How it stays up to date

Sports TV rights change on contract cycles (typically 3–5 years), not daily — which makes a curated guide practical. The dataset is re-verified on a quarterly schedule, and major new rights announcements (which are always big news) are folded in as they happen. Every entry carries its rights cycle and verification date so you can judge freshness yourself.

Honest limits

• This is a league/season-level guide: it tells you who holds a competition's rights in your country, not which exact channel shows a specific match on a given night. Check local listings on matchday.
• Boxing rights are per-fight; the guide lists each country's main boxing broadcasters, but individual cards can move.
• Some editions (e.g. World Aquatics 2027, World Athletics 2027) have no announced rights yet — these are marked honestly rather than extrapolated.
• Regional entries (MENA, Sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America…) apply where a single deal covers the region; local exceptions may exist.
